This astounding collection represents a unique and vital resource that was a pleasure to work on. I briefly outlined the narrative and contents of the collection in a blog for the CSUN Special Collections “Peek in the Stacks” series and constructed a detailed finding aid for researchers.
Chitjian Room Collection
As the Archivist and Technical Services representative for the Chitjian Conference Room in CSUN’s Modern and Classical Languages Department, I organized and rehoused Chitjian Family materials for in-room and online users. I described the materials in multiple spreadsheets, prioritizing discoverability and ease of use. I also created digital resources for users to familiarize themselves with the scope and content of the collection, including a User Guide presentation to assist visitors in preparing for a visit.
BLM 2020 Protests in LA at CSUN
I was honored to assist in co-curating the protest photography collection of Keith Rice and Taylor Walker housed at the Tom & Ethel Bradley Center at CSUN for the digital exhibit Confronting a Pandemic within a Pandemic: 2020 Black Lives Matter Protests in LA.
George A. Jergenson Papers, ArtCenter College of Design Archive
As the processing archivist intern in the fall of 2019, at the ArtCenter Archive, I organized the papers of George A. Jergenson, former head of the Industrial Design department. I also created metadata for uploaded images on their AtoM DAM, found here.
Ethnobotanical Garden Project
Here is a collection of items assembled as part of a ContentDM graduate class project in the Fall of 2018. I was grateful for the knowledge I had acquired as part of my Metadata and Digitization certificate from Pasadena City College as my understanding of mapping was crucial to the success of the project. Our group conceptualized the space before applying a template which enabled us to generate a more granular, custom-made product.
Some favorites from the Huntington Digital Library.
I spent 9 months working on metadata for items in the Ernest Marquez photography collection during the summer of 2015 to spring 2016 at the Huntington Library. When possible, I attempted to give a little extra attention to reflections of the lives of women and children in early 20th century Los Angeles. Here are some of my favorite vignettes; early Chinatown and personal photos from a schoolteacher in Topanga.
